Martin Luther King, Jr.

I did not know that in 1959 Martin Luther King, Jr visited Ghandi.

King reflected, "Since being in India, I am more convinced than ever before that the method of nonviolent resistance is the most potent weapon available to oppressed people in their struggle for justice and human dignity. In a real sense, Mahatma Gandhi embodied in his life certain universal principles that are inherent in the moral structure of the universe, and these principles are as inescapable as the law of gravitation.”

I did not know that either! Although I think there's a lot about MLK that I don't know! Time to do some reading I think!

What an amazing coincidence that MLK Day immediately precedes the inauguration of our first African American president.

Coach (the American voters) has benched the old white guys, and has sent a black man into the game.

"What play should I use?"

"It ain't a play, son, not anymore. We need a plan...a plan to bring this country back."

And the young man runs onto the field to the ringing cheers of, "Hope! Hope! Hope!"
